Lab tests prototype 2.0

After some supply chain delays, we were now able to assemble the drilling unit of the second prototype for the first time. Over the summer, we have been working on our own control software to efficiently operate the new drill. Last week, we brought both together and are happy to report that everything worked. We are now in the process of assembling the movement unit as well so that all can be married and tested very soon.

CHF 1.3M Innosuisse SIP Funding!

Over the summer, we had a very important pitch: in front of the SIP - Startup Innovation Project (supported by Innosuisse) panel. The goal was to attain further government support to allow us a shorter development time and thus get us to market quicker. We can now report that we were succesful: Innosuisse has decided to support our project with an incredible CHF 1.3M! Such funding makes a huge difference in hardware-intensive startups like ours where market-traction can only be shown very late after considerable product development.

Borobotics keeps growing

Over the past two months, we had to say goodbye to two of our interns, Leonardo and Matteo, whose internships came to an end. We wish both the best of luck in their master studies at ETH. We were able to find very capable replacements for Leo and Matteo in Lucas Giesen and Lina Hunziker. Both join us as mechanical engineering interns with Lucas having a Masters from ETH and Lina coming in with a Bachelors from ZHAW. Last week, Rafael Oelen completed the team as our newest intern. All three will be supporting in the construction of vital parts such as the extrusion unit as well as the testing of the next prototype.
